Night of the Living Dead is 50 Today!

Fifty years ago today, my favorite film, Night of the Living Dead, premiered at the Fulton Theater, (now the Byham) in Pittsburgh, PA. This film changed so many things. It was proof that indy cinema not only mattered, but was a force to be reckoned with. George A. Romero, along with Russ Streiner, Karl Hardman, John Russo, Gary Streiner and so many others, created a film that set the zombie craze we now live in on its course. This film was the first one I ever owned and I became obsessed with it. I'm honored to be a part of the celebration that will mark the anniversary this weekend. Almost fifty years to the day, Pittsburgh will again see the film that started it all in the same theater with the living cast and crew in attendance at a red carpet event.
